I have loved reflecting on such a curiously powerful word. It is often synonymous with fearless, but I disagree. Courage is more like doing something with fear as your co-pilot.
My courage has helped me become grateful for where I am today. It showed up in small and big ways—like when I traveled across the country with little money and no clear plans, just trusting the journey. Later, I became frustrated with how Veterinary Medicine often relied on quick fixes instead of long-term care. This pushed me to start a rewarding career in veterinary rehabilitation and open a facility focused on alternative healing.
Just as my courage guided me through uncertainty and fueled my gratitude, it also carried me forward during a deeply personal chapter—helping me find spiritual healing while facing a baffling illness. It gave me the strength to navigate a bold career change, step into entrepreneurship, and embrace each step with faith rather than a blueprint for success
Courage, for me, is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to move forward with fear as a companion. It’s the force that pushes me to trust the journey, embrace uncertainty, and transform challenges into opportunities for growth. In every chapter of my life—whether facing illness, embarking on a new career, or stepping into entrepreneurship—courage has been the quiet strength guiding me toward gratitude and spiritual healing. Ultimately, courage is the unwavering belief that even when the path is unclear, I have what it takes to persevere and thrive.
Thank you for the opportunity to reflect on this. It gives me a sense of pride for being this version of me.
With Love,
Missi
